Baseball / Softball

With all the current excitement and hype of first year rookie Pitcher Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals ( Who my son and I recently saw pitch twice this past May in Syracuse for the Chiefs) who currently has 100 MPH fast ball. The big question is "where is he getting it from?" After reading sports writers interviews and opinions in The Syracuse Post Standard the answer is simple ... the lower half of his body.
Pitching like proper hitting starts at the feet, comes up through the legs, hips, and core. Then finishing out with the upper body using chest, back, shoulders, and arms.
As far as hitting is concerned, Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox and Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals both display at home plate strong lower half bodies.
When discussing base running and stealing, Ricky Henderson, an all time leader of stolen bases is my favorite power runner.
Listed here are the machines if used properly and often enough will increase velocity for pitching, quicker and more powerful swing as well as faster and intimidating base running.
