ST. JOHNSVILLE—Since opening in December of 2009, Dare to Dream Fitness Center, and owner/trainer Bob Failing III, have been helping people change their lives for the better.“Today, more than ever, it’s important to feel better and look better. And to accomplish that, one has to change the way one thinks,” said Failing.
It is a winning strategy that has catapulted Dare to Dream Fitness and members to success. The center features a nine-piece Cybex pin-select (weight) machine circuit, exercise bikes, treadmills, stepper, free weights and dumbbells. But the key to success is the thirty years of expertise and commitment trainer Failing brings to his members.
Many have taken notice, none more so than legendary Fort Plain high school baseball coach Craig Phillips, winner of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) National Coach of the Year award in 2010.Not only is Phillips a regular at Failing’s Fitness Center, he enrolled his entire varsity basketball team last spring to increase their strength under Failing’s direction.Phillips explained his strategy.“We played Canajoharie (basketball) at the beginning of the season last year and the Canajoharie kids ripped the ball out of our hands twice. They didn’t outplay us with technique, they outplayed us with strength,” observed Phillips. Our teams are having one of their best years this year because I have the kids up there working with Bobby. The secret is, we are making ‘strength’ part of our training. If you are stronger and you think you are stronger, you will outperform your opponent on the field or master the challenge before you in the classroom,” said Phillips.
Phillips thinks so highly of Failing’s skill he has given Dare to Dream Fitness and Failing his professional endorsement.“I’m glad to have my name associated with Bobby and his Dare to Dream Fitness Center. It’s a plus, not only for St. Johnsville, but for all of western Montgomery County,” said Phillips.
Failing is gratified and appreciates the endorsement.“Physical fitness helps everyone at any age because it helps you keep your body and your mind fit.I use my thirty years of training and experience with each client to see them improve, whatever their goal.My number one goal is that you leave in better shape and condition than when you arrive,” said Failing.
Jabin Weaver, 17, from Fort Plain, is interested in being the best baseball player he can be so he works out at the Dare to Dream Fitness Center.“Since day one at Dare to Dream, I have done nothing but improve my strength mentally and physically.By working with Mr. Failing, my game and attitude on and off the field has improved tremendously,” said Weaver.
Jabin’s father, Wayne Weaver, has witnessed a change in his son since moving to Fort Plain a year ago.“The Fort Plain Hilltoppers’ baseball and basketball coaching staff introduced Jabin to Dare to Dream Fitness.Mr. Failing has taken Jabin and many others under his wing and improved their overall mental and physical conditioning.Bob takes the time to oversee the training and use of the equipment on a one-to-one basis and most importantly, improves Jabin’s attitude towards what it is going to take to get to the next level of his athletic career,” said Weaver.
Failing has just announced a new lineup of membership programs and options that offer something for everyone interested in feeling, looking and thinking stronger and positively.Dare to Dream Fitness Center is located at 24 East Main Street, St. Johnsville.
